Paducah, KY – A St. Louis-based industrial company is one step closer to building a coal-to-liquid gasification plant in McCracken County. The Kentucky Environmental Protection Division for Air Quality granted an air permit to Secure Energy June 30. Company owners say there are many more steps to take to ensure the plant's completion. However, construction is underway at the approved Noble Road location. The Paducah Sun reports Secure Energy could provide over one hundred full-time positions, and hundreds of construction jobs during the 3-year building process.
