Wildlife Agency Makes Holiday Boating Arrests

Nashville, TN – Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency officers made 31 boating under the influence arrests and cited 16 boaters for reckless or negligent operations during the Fourth of July weekend. According to the agency, that's a slight increase from last year's holiday weekend. Officials report no fatalities from boating accidents occurred this year, but did report six property damage accidents and five serious injury accidents. In total for 2011, there are 13 boating-related fatalities and 34 serious injury accidents across the state. This year, TWRA officers have made 81 arrests for boating under the influence.
