Murray, KY – Marshall County Judge Executive Mike Miller will emcee the political speaking at this year's Fancy Farm picnic in August. St. Jerome's Catholic Parish in Fancy Farm hosts the event, which is historically known as the official kick off of the fall campaign season. Judge Miller having attended the events since the early 1960's suspects another year of high octane stump speeches:
"I do believe that it will be lively this year. You have three candidates vying for the governorship: Gov. Steve Beshear, Senate President David Williams and Gatewood Galbraith who is always entertaining and quite a speaker. So it should be an event."
In addition to the gubernatorial stump speeches, Senators Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul will be among those slated to speak at the political picnic. Space has also been allotted for 2012 presidential candidates though none have yet to confirm attendance.
