Murray, KY – An excessive heat warning is in effect for western Kentucky, northwestern Tennessee, and southern-most Illinois until midnight tonight. A heat advisory will begin tonight at midnight and lasting until 9 p.m. Tuesday. We'll see highs today in the mid to upper 90s, and high humidity could make it feel as hot as 108 degrees. The National Weather Service says you should take extra precautions if you have to go outside today. If you're doing anything strenuous outdoors, try to reschedule it for the early morning or evening, when it's cooler. Also, be sure to wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing and drink plenty of water.
