Troopers Work to Reduce Commercial Vehicle Wrecks

By Associated Press

Mayfield, KY – State police in western Kentucky are working to reduce highway crashes on roads that have a high volume of commercial vehicle traffic. Troopers began this month using an enforcement program known as Ticketing Aggressive Cars and Trucks, or "TACT," to focus on reducing commercial motor vehicle collisions. Troopers will work extended hours on designated roadways through the end of August to watch for violations committed around, near, or by commercial trucks. The Mayfield Post says those violations have a direct correlation to deadly crash rates due to the nature of the vehicles involved.
