Frankfort, KY – Kentucky's 1st District US Representative Ed Whitfield has delayed the implementation of new rules imposed by the Environmental Protection Agency, citing possible job losses and economic detriment. Whitfield is working with Arkansas Representative Mike Ross to develop the amendment to the Transparency in Regulatory Analysis of Impacts on the Nation, or TRAIN Act. The amendment calls for a thorough assessment of the economic impact new EPA regulations could have prior to their implementation. Whitfield says new regulatory action would have devastating effects on the recovering economy in Kentucky.
