Clarksville, TN – Clarksville's Industrial Development Board is taking action to build a conference center in the Exit 4 area. This comes more than a decade after a popular referendum defeated efforts to build a publicly funded conference center at the same location. The IDB is trying now to lure a private developer into taking up the cause by offering up the land at the proposed location in exchange for an agreement to build a hotel and conference center. The plan is modeled after a similar development completed in the late 90's in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
