Tennessee DOT Loses Federal Funding

By Drew Adams

Murray, KY – The Tennessee Department of Transportation will have to do without $52 million in federal funds. Commissioner John Schroer says the federal government rescinded the money, which was allocated for the 2011 fiscal year. He adds T-DOT resources will be significantly impacted, because 50% of the states funding comes from federal sources. Schroer says he doesn't intend to make cuts anywhere that would delay the delivery of projects that are ready to go."
