Trigg County, KY – A Trigg County man accused of a 2002 murder has turned himself in. 34-year-old Claude Russell walked into the Trigg County Courthouse yesterday, and surrendered to Kentucky State Police. This wraps up a more than 9-year-old cold case surrounding the murder of 33-year-old Chantell Humphries. A grand jury indicted Russell last Tuesday as Attorney G. L. Ovey says new evidence in the case has come to light. The Paducah Sun reports Russell has long been the main suspect in the case, but a 2003 indictment did not stick. A date has not yet been set for trial.
