Portion of Nunn file to be Released

By Associated Press

Lexington, KY – Lexington city officials say a portion of former lawmaker Steve Nunn's police investigative file will be released, reversing an earlier decision to withhold the records until he completed his life sentence. Lexington commissioner of law Janet Graham commissioner of law, informed the Lexington Herald-Leader in a letter Wednesday that most of the voluminous file will be released to promote government transparency. The newspaper filed an open-records request last week for the file of the former state representative, who in June pleaded guilty to shooting to death Lexington resident Amanda Ross and began a sentencing to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Graham says it will take five to seven days to prepare the records for release.
