Paducah, KY – The US Postal Service plans to close five more western Kentucky Post Offices this year. Offices at Columbus, Hampton, Lovelaceville, Lynnville, and Tiline are among the more than 3,600 rural locations throughout the nation that are being targeted for possible closure. The Postal Service is trying to prevent a predicted $8 billion dollar loss this year, as post office usage continues to decrease in favor of e-mail and social networking. Those interested in keeping their local office open can petition to have their case reviewed by the Postal Regulatory Commission.
