Paducah, KY – An audit of the McCracken County Clerk's office finds there are no major problems with its practices. This is despite allegations of mismanagement and unorthodox procedures. State Auditor, Crit Luallen, began an investigation into County Clerk Jeff Jerrell's office in January. Luallen began the investigation after Judge-Executive Van Newberry and Sherriff Jon Hayden alleged that the office's operational procedures were unprofessional and illegal. The Paducah Sun reports Luallen had some minor recommendations for increased efficiency, which Jerrell says he will be implementing soon.
