Hopkins County plans to apply for $3 million loan

By Seth Helton

Murray, KY – Hopkins County Fiscal Court initiated an action Tuesday to apply for a 3 million dollar low-interest loan. The loan would be used toward construction a county Sports Complex. Hopkins County Judge Executive Donald Carroll says that in order for the loan to be granted a state representative must provide support. Carroll says the county wishes to use coal severance money to pay off the loan. The complex is expected to stimulate tourism in Hopkins County. Land for the complex has already been purchased south of Madisonville near the Earlington exit.
