Frankfort, KY – Economists predict Kentucky's general fund revenues will exceed previous estimates by about $192 million this fiscal year. Deputy Director of the Governor's Office of Economic Analysis Greg Harkenrider (hark-en-rider) says that's good news for a state government that has had to repeatedly cut spending in recent years to balance the budget. A panel of economists met in Frankfort today (Thursday) to review financial data and economic indicators to predict revenues for the coming year. Harkenrider says the additional revenue could lessen cuts required to balance the state budget.
