Hopkins County, KY – Hopkins County Fiscal Court members are moving forward to build a 3 million dollar sports complex. This week court officials began the process to apply for a loan to build the facility. County Judge Executive Donnie Carroll says he needs support from a state representative to receive the loan. Carroll says the county wishes to use coal severance money to pay off the loan. He expects the complex will boost tourism in the county. Carroll says the county has already purchased land for the complex south of Madisonville near the Earlington exit.
