Fancy Farm, KY – Politicians have been making rounds to Western Kentucky towns for the last couple of days testing out their campaign messages ahead of tomorrow's Fancy Farm Picnic. The home to fiery stump speeches is a must-attend event for everyone running for statewide offices. But, Attorney General Jack Conway who also speaks tomorrow wonders how voters will receive Kentucky congressional members who plan to attend.
"If you examine what's going on in Washington, with the debt ceiling and the talks here recently, voters are frustrated with both parties and I get it I'm mad too. I was very put off by the debt ceiling negotiations in Washington."
Conway says with higher voter engagement because of the debt ceiling debate negative ads, which fair better during times of lower voter engagement, might not provide the results candidates hope for. He says during his campaign he'll try to stay positive. He faces Hopkins County Attorney Todd P'Pool. They both speak tomorrow at the Fancy Farm Picnic. You can hear a long conversation with Conway tonight at 6:30 on Front Page P.M. as we begin our occasional series with candidates for statewide political office.
