Murray, KY – The McCracken County Fiscal Court is moving forward in applying for a FEMA buy-out program to purchase the property of flood victims. County commissioners voted yesterday (Monday) to move forward in the application process. Judge-Executive Van Newberry says the fiscal court will vote tonight (Tuesday) to approve the application. The buy-out program will assist residents with properties depreciated by 50 percent or more of their value beyond repair. The total amount of money available through FEMA would total 2.5 million dollars with McCracken County contributing 3 hundred thousand.
