Murray, KY – Taking advantage of Congress's record low approval ratings, Democratic Governor Steve Beshear's re-election campaign chose to deride leaders in Washington, D.C. in their latest television ad. The 30-second spot features President Barack Obama and members of Congress at various press conferences and meetings, claiming neither have led on the issues while praising Beshear's handling of Kentucky's budget and economy. Observers have already noted this is another example of the Governor trying to distance himself from Mr. Obama, who remains woefully unpopular in the commonwealth. Beshear is leading handily in most polls now against his challengers Republican Senate President David Williams and Independent Gatewood Galbraith.
