Union City, TN – A new Delta Regional Authority study shows many communities in West Tennessee continue to struggle with accessing basic resources to invest in their businesses and create jobs. According to the study, West Tennessee lags behind other areas. Small businesses in the Delta region received $289 million dollars during the first three quarters of the agency's 2011 fiscal year. The amount represents almost $12 million dollars more than what was documented for all of 2009. According to the Union City Daily Messenger, the authority is creating a new business advisory council that will focus on delivering additional resources to small businesses across the Southeast.
