Nashville, TN – During last year's Republican gubernatorial primary, Tennessee Senate Speaker Ron Ramsey attacked rival Bill Haslam for supporting Al Gore's 1988 presidential campaign. Now Ramsey is dismissing any criticism of Texas Gov. Rick Perry for doing the same as "silly". Ramsey issued a "strong statement of support" today for Perry as he seeks the Republican presidential nomination. Ramsey says any concerns over Perry's one-time support for Gore are misguided because Gore has changed. Haslam won last year's election in a landslide.
