Murray, KY – Paducahs' Western Baptist Hospital is among 6 hospitals ordered to pay an $8.9 million settlement for improperly billing Medicare. The Paducah Sun reports the hospital's owner, Baptist Healthcare Systems was cited for using an incorrect Medicare billing code, effectively raising the amount of money paid to the hospital from Medicare. The amount the hospital must pay to Medicare was determined in an out of court settlement between Western Baptist and the U.S. Department of Justice.
