MCCH Expands Mental Health Services

By Gary Pitts/Murray Ledger & Times

Murray, KY – The Murray-Calloway County Hospital is expanding its behavioral health department. The hospital hired one new psychiatrist recently, and officials say they have plans to hire more. MCCH CEO Jerry Penner tells the Murray Ledger & Times that a patient's well being includes five components; physical, spiritual, relational, psychological, and economic. The MCCH Geriatric Behavioral Health unit, which opened last year, is the only in-patient facility of its kind in western Kentucky.
