Hopkins County, KY – Republican attorney general candidate Todd P'Pool is now airing his first television ad. The 30-second spot made its YouTube debut Monday and stresses the GOP nominee's faith, support of the coal industry, and his work as Hopkins County Attorney. It also trumpets his vehement opposition to President Barack Obama's health care law. P'Pool says he is encouraged by a ruling last week from the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, which found provisions of the health care law unconstitutional.
"Well I think it was a great day for liberty, it's encouraging to know that we do have courts that believe Congress should stay within the boundaries of its enumerated powers. Unfortunately, Jack Conway and Kentucky sits on the sidelines in this important constitutional battle."
The Conway campaign says P'Pool is trying to nationalize the race. Early polling shows P'Pool trailing Conway by 26 percentage points.
