Several West Kentucky Farms to Receive over $120,000 to Implement Energy Efficient Measures

By Gary Pitts

Murray, KY – Twelve west Kentucky farm families are set to receive more than 120,000 dollars in grants for energy efficiency from the US Department of Agriculture. Farms and businesses in Hickman, Calloway, Ballard, Graves and McCracken Counties will get funds to put renewable energy and energy efficiency measures into place in the farm operations. The state as a whole is receiving a half million dollars in grants that will be divvied among families and businesses. Gov. Steve Beshear says the recipients showed initiative in applying for the funds, and dedication to reduce energy consumption and increase renewable energy usage.
