Murray, KY – The Kentucky Executive Branch Ethics Commission has been asked to do an expanded review of campaign fundraising activities on behalf of Democratic Governor Steve Beshear. The Kentucky Republican Party sent a renewed complaint to the ethics panel Monday, charging that another of Beshear's aides has solicited contributions from state employees in violation of state law. GOP Chairman Steve Robertson alleges Finance and Administration Cabinet Deputy Commissioner Jerry Graves solicited contributions from state workers on two separate occasions since December. Beshear, who is seeking a second term in the November 8th election, has raised more than $5 million, far more than either of his opponents, Republican David Williams and independent Gatewood Galbraith.
