Murray, KY – The Kentucky Natural Lands Trust says 453 acres of forest in Marshall County has been acquired to help preserve a colony the endangered Indiana bat. The trust says the land consists of two tracts of what was privately held land within the seven thousand acre Clarks River National Wildlife Refuge near Benton. The land trust says the two pieces of land are very close to a known Indiana bat colony east of Paducah in McCracken County. The land will eventually be added to the National Wildlife Refuge system.
