Sullivan University Investigated for Campaign Violations

By WKMS Newsroom

Frankfort, KY – An independent special prosecutor will look into possible campaign finance violations by Louisville's for-profit Sullivan University. A Sullivan employee filed a complaint with Attorney General Jack Conway's office alleging university executives solicited votes and contributions for Attorney General candidate Todd P'Pool. A panel from Conway's office appointed Attorney Jim Crawford to oversee the investigation. P'Pool's campaign manager David Ray says Crawford should investigate allegations of campaign money elicited from state employees and Conway's involvement with his own brother's drug investigation before looking into the Sullivan case. Conway recused himself from the case because it involves his re-election campaign.
