Murray, KY – TennCare officials say they may have to cut over 2 billion dollars from the state's expanded Medicaid program if Congress reduces funding by 30%. Deep spending cuts are required under the recent federal debt-ceiling agreement. Tennessee Finance Commissioner Mark Emkes requested state agencies to submit two plans to prepare for potential funding reductions. One anticipates a 15% cut, the other, 30%. TennCare released its plan Tuesday. TennCare spokeswoman Kelly Gunderson says the agency doesn't want to see further reduction.
