Hopkinsville, KY – Christian County Schools' enrollment is at an all-time high causing overcrowding at some locations partly because students can pick where they want to attend classes. At Hopkinsville High School, some offices have been converted to classrooms and teachers are sharing classroom space. As of yesterday, enrollment at the school was about 140 students over capacity. Communications Director Heather Aubin says much of the increase is due to a program that allows students to choose what school they want to go to. She says this program could be eliminated in the future. Schools near HHS's location all grade levels face similar problems.
