Murray, KY – Authorities have resumed their search for a McCracken County man who got into a swift Tennessee River current and disappeared. Emergency Management Coordinator Paul Carter says Jeffrey Kirkpatrick was swimming with a woman near his home Thursday afternoon when he called out to her the current had caught him. He was 100 yards out from their boat and said he didn't think he could make it back. The companion swam to shore and called for help. Carter says teams searched until after dark Thursday and would resuming this morning at daybreak.
