Murray, KY – Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner candidates Republican James Comer and Democrat Robert Farmer clashed over qualifications in their Monday night debate on Kentucky Education Television. Comer says his background as a farmer makes him the better choice for the post. Robert Farmer owns a Louisville marketing firm. He says his 30-years experience makes him the better candidate because he understands how to market Kentucky grown products. Comer said the agriculture commissioner should have a background in farming. Farmer called Comer a professional politician who wants to use the job as a stepping stone to a higher office.
