KY Ed Commissioner elected to national board

By Rose Krzton-Presson

Frankfort, KY – Kentucky Education Commissioner Terry Holliday is the new Chief State School Officer on the National Assessment Governing Board. His 4 year term begins next month. While on the board, Holliday will set policy for the National Assessment of Educational Progress, known as the Nation's Report Card. The board is currently developing a new computer-based Technology and Engineering Literacy assessment for high school seniors and forming a new committee to promote parent involvement in a student's education. Chariman David Driscoll says Holliday's four decades of education experience makes him valuable in overseeing the nation's report card.
