Four Hour Closure on I-24 Due to Collision

By Drew Adams

Murray, KY – A fatal accident in McCracken County prompted a four hour closure on I-24 yesterday. Officials shut down the interstate's eastbound lanes to investigate a collision involving four vehicles that claimed the life of a Grand Rivers man. Witnesses say a tire failed on a dump truck, causing it to swerve into a car which then crossed the median into the eastbound lanes. The vehicle struck another car driven by 56 year old Ricky Walker, who was pronounced dead at the scene. At least four other people have been hospitalized. Officials have not commented on the outcome of the collision reconstruction. They say the crash is still under investigation.
