By Drew Adams

Murray, KY – An Owensboro man has been found competent to stand trial in the 2008 beating death of an elderly nursing home resident. Daviess Circuit Court Judge Jay Wethington set bond for Christopher Lee Jackson at $100,000 and ordered him to the Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center in LaGrange for treatment A grand jury indicted Jackson last week in the death of 78-year-old Leslie Mulligan. Jackson faces charges of murder and first-degree assault. Prosecutors say he beat, kicked and stomped Mulligan when both were residents at Rosedale Nursing Home. Jackson was previously found incompetent to stand trial due to mental illness.
