Madisonville Approves City Tax Rates

By Drew Adams

Murray, KY – Madisonville's City Council approved 2011 city tax rates yesterday in a final public reading. The real property tax rate and the vehicle rate will remain at last year's levels. Tangible personal property taxes have risen to almost 21 cents, up from last year's rate of just over 19 cents. The Madisonville Messenger reports city officials expect to see the same amount of revenue as last year. The city lost $10 million in tax revenue due to businesses such as Autoliv moving out of the city.
