Frankfort, KY – The federal government has awarded Kentucky more than three million dollars to help fight rising health insurance premiums. The Affordable Care Act grant funds will go to improve the state to review and regulate rate increases. Officials say they intend to expand legislation regarding insurance review, hire more staff to help regulate increases, and implement new rate analysis technology. The Affordable Care Act grants states money from a $250 million dollar coffer to combat unreasonable health insurance costs.
