Murray, KY – Montgomery County officials have offered a new site for the proposed Tennessee State Veterans Nursing Home. City and County officials have expressed support for the nine acre site which could house the $22 million project. The proposal of the new site follows the Veterans Home Board's denial of an earlier plot, found to be too close to Outlaw Field Airport and lacking in proper drainage. The Clarksville Leaf Chronicle reports board officials say they hope to begin talks with the VA Department of Construction in the coming weeks. Those involved with the project will not comment on a completion date, citing the large amount of governmental approvals needed before construction may begin.
