Murray, KY – A rural Livingston County house near Smithland caught fire yesterday and burned unnoticed for nearly an hour. Local fire companies responded to the blaze on Ringstaff Road after a passing motorist saw a column of smoke rising from a wooded area and called authorities. The Paducah Sun reports arriving firefighters found the house had collapsed on itself. Officials have yet to determine the cause of the blaze. The investigation is ongoing.
