Murray, KY – Paducah emergency personnel may one day share a headquarters. Paducah Fire Chief Steve Kyle spoke to the city commission Tuesday about the possibility of a new joint headquarters housing both the police and fire departments. The chief says a spatial needs study indicates the Fire Department needs a 23,000 square foot headquarters which would cost approximately 4.3 million dollars. The police department has yet to complete a spatial needs study. The joint headquarters would replace aging buildings housing both departments saving the city an estimated 15% in energy costs.
