Hopkins County, KY – Hopkins County Residents may have to wait longer for their county sports complex. State Representative Ben Waide says he won't back the county's move to fund the project through an allocation of coal severance tax money. The funds would pay off a proposed $3 million loan for the complex. The Madisonville Messenger reports Waide's refusal to sponsor the allocation will delay construction. The county fiscal court had hoped the project would be completed by 2013. Representative Waide says he does not believe the sports complex will have the economic impact the fiscal court is promoting.
