Accrediting Council Looks at National College

By Todd Hatton

Murray, KY – The Accrediting Council of Independent Colleges and Schools is reviewing National College of Kentucky placement rates. The council announced the review Wednesday one day after Attorney General Jack Conway filed a lawsuit alleging National College exaggerated the percentage of its students who get jobs in their chosen fields after graduation. The council says any discrepancy in placement rates is taken very seriously and they won't tolerate reporting erroneous information. The Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools accredits more than 800 private post-secondary institutions. Conway's lawsuit claims National College has misrepresented placement numbers to make itself more appealing to prospective students.
