Paducah, KY – The Paducah Parks Department is raising money to build a new dog park at Stuart Nelson Park. Parks Maintenance Supervisor Trace Stevens says they've raised about half of the $20,000 goal. The West Kentucky Star reports the city will match the money once the goal is reached to bring the total to $40,000. Stevens says the parks department will sell sponsorship plaques for about $50 to be placed along the parks fence to raise the rest of the money. He says the plan for the one and a half acre park includes separate areas for large and small dogs. Stevens says the opening of the dog park depends on how quickly the Parks Department meets its fundraising goal.
