Political Group Airing 5 TV Ads in Governor's Race

By Todd Hatton

Murray, KY – The independent political group Restoring America has increased to at least five the number of political ads it's running on Kentucky television stations a month ahead of the gubernatorial election. An Ohio lawyer - Jim Rutledge of Columbus - registered the group with the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance last week, but won't have to file paperwork to show where the money is coming from to pay for the advertising campaign at least until next month. Rutledge has declined to comment. Most of the ads attack Democratic Gov. Steve Beshear who is seeking a second a term. One promotes Beshear's chief opponent, Republican David Williams. TV stations in three Kentucky cities have questioned the accuracy of some information in the ads and have declined to run them.
