Murray, KY – State Farm insurance says the number of deer-vehicle collisions has dropped nationally for the third year in a row, with the four states in our region falling in the middle. The Bloomington, Illinois-based insurance company says client data show a 7 percent drop in collisions between July 2010 and June 2011. Data shows slightly more than 1 million collisions between deer and vehicles during that time period. State Farm says motorists in West Virginia are most likely to run into a deer. The state tops the list for the fifth year in a row. State Farm classifies Missouri as the most likely for a collision in our area at 19th, Kentucky ranks 22nd, Illinois 32nd, and Tennessee 29th.
