Frankfort, KY – A new Kentucky Department of Travel and Tourism project aims to link sites related to the Civil War around the state. Rather than concentrate solely on the battles, the Civil War Heritage Trails also tell the story of how the conflict affected businesses and families. Information about the program is online at www.kentuckycivilwartrails.org. The website maps out a series of clustered trails tourists can visit. Local sites listed in the project include Fort Heiman in Calloway County and the Lloyd Tilghman House and Civil War Museum in Paducah.
