Murray, KY – Firefighters battled 20 foot flames in a blaze that burned 10 acres of farmland on Paducah's west side yesterday. The fire started around 3pm near Ogden Landing Road. The Paducah Sun reports West McCracken, Concord and Kevil Fire departments were on scene and got the blaze under control in little over an hour. McCracken Assistant Fire Chief Larry Adams says conditions are right for big fires and asks residents to take the state's current burn ban seriously. The Kentucky burn ban stipulates no fires may be set within 150 feet of a field or woodland between the hours of 6a.m. to 6p.m. through December 15th.
