Murray , KY – A 15-year-old Trigg County student was arrested yesterday after bringing a gun to school. Trigg County High School staff found the 9mm handgun in the student's backpack after another student reported hearing a gun was being brought to campus. The Paducah Sun reports an initial investigation reveals the student brought the gun as payment of a debt to another student and there was no intention of causing harm. The high school was on lockdown during the investigation and both the student who brought the gun and its intended recipient are being held in police custody. Both will be charged with possession of a firearm on school property and possession of a handgun by a minor.
