Kentucky Man Charged in Investment Scandal

By Associated Press

Owensboro, KY – Federal prosecutors say a Kentucky man bilked $1.4 million dollars from 23 people in three states as part of a fake investment scam. Cory George of Owensboro is charged with wire fraud related to three of the investors. But Assistant U.S. Attorney Marisa Ford is asking to allow evidence at trial from 20 more investors. Ford says many of the victims are elderly and gave their life savings to George, who promised to invest the funds with returns of 4.1 percent interest in a year. George has pleaded not guilty to his current charges.
