Carhartt Expects to Add 150 Workers in Western Kentucky

Murray, KY – Clothing manufacturers Carhartt Inc. will invest more than $11 million to upgrade its Hopkins County facility. The company expects to add more than 150 employees to the facility's existing workforce of 550. Carhartt will upgrade technology, equipment and conveyor systems, with work expected to be complete by 2014. Governor Steve Beshear's office says Carhartt has received preliminary approval for tax incentives up to $3 million. The company has been in operation in Kentucky for more than 80 years.
