Murray, KY – Three statewide groups say their review of Kentucky test scores shows achievement gaps continue to hinder the Commonwealth's overall education progress. The analysis by the Council for Better Education, the Kentucky Association of School Councils and the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence shows Kentucky schools are falling especially short with minority students and students with disabilities and limited English proficiency. Low-income and Hispanic students also scored well below their peers. The study is designed to monitor school performance while Kentucky made a three-year shift from the Commonwealth Accountability Testing System to the Unbridled Learning system. This is the transition's last year and the last year the three groups will issue the report.
